Knuckle Tattoo Generator

Get your own (not quite real) knuckle tattoos with this knuckle tattoo generator.
There are a lot of interesting 8 letter words out there so, go nuts!
Top 4 that Casey and I came up with:
1. (shown above)
2. Occupant
3. Declawed
4. Janitor (There are a lot of ways a janitor could lose a finger. "Janitors" just doesn't have the same ring to it. This actually prompted a discussion about finger injuries and speculation about what the most commonly amputated finger is...our conclusion was the index finger but I can't find anything to confirm that it's true.)

Honorable Mentions:
Dumpling, Doorstop, Crookery, Fidgeter, Goldfish

Oh, and here's the real knuckle tattoos site that generator comes from where they post a lot of knuckle tattoo pictures with the stories behind them. (Pictured below is one of my favorites.)

Skeleton Keys Glow in the Dark Key Covers

These skeleton key glow in the dark key covers could come in pretty handy if you're out late at night and need to find the right key for your front door. They come in a pack of 6 so there are plenty to share and at $7.95 for a pack of 6 at Merch-bot.com they're pretty affordable too.

Treasure Chest Ring

This treasure chest ring from Fred Flare is pretty neat. The blue looks pretty good but I do wish it had a more traditional treasure chest look.

Mood Beams Kaleidoscopic Critters

All of these Mood Beams are so freaking cute, I would have a very difficult time choosing which one to get. I don't know what to call them. Is it a lamp? It's sort of like a lamp...light..toy..thing.

Here's what the Firebox website says:
"Basically Mood Beams are a funky tribe of supremely portable, battery-operated characters that cycle through a spectrum of hypnotic colours. They're also sensitive to sound, so if you put them next to your radio or CD player they'll change colour in time to the beat of the music. It's like having a ravey light show emanating from within an amorphous Japanese cartoon character. Well, sort of."

There have been 3 series so far and each character has a name that describes its expression. For example, Series 3 (pictured in the large center photo below) has characters named Chipper, Dizzy, Gloomy and Peppy.

Sofa Surprise Candy

This candy encourages kids to "dig underneath the sofa cushions for a treasure trove of treats".
I know when I was a kid that would have been a horrible idea as there were some very scary things in there.

Lucky Spades T-Shirts

This classic, vintage heart and spade t-shirt design sure looks like it's lucky! If you're into gambling, poker, blackjack or the slots, you might want to wear this to the casino or your next poker game to bring lady luck to your side. (These t-shirts, stickers, buttons, mugs, tote bags, messenger bags, boxers, panties and stationery also make great gifts for the gambler in your life or the vintage clothing lover you adore!)

Kissaki Figure

This is the Kissaki figure by Erick Scarecrow and it's truly awesome and according to toysrevil (where I just found out about it) it's going to be released at the New York Comic Con on Friday April 18th. That's only a few days away! Must. resist.urge.to.go.
I guess I'll just continue to drool over this figure for a while.
The color choices are really great, though I'm not exactly impartial since I have a thing for red and orange and she's designed in such a way that she catches tons of light and it looks so good against all of that black.

Seraphim Flameworks Beads

Seraphim Flameworks makes gorgeous glass beads that I think would look amazing in steampunk jewelry projects.
I love the great detail and iridescent sheen that they have.
Check them out on Etsy and Ebay.

Steampunk T-shirts

This playful steampunk t-shirt design features shiny metallic mechanical steampunk seahorses on t-shirts, stickers, buttons, panties, stationary, baby clothes, maternity clothes, mugs, mousepads, gifts and more!

This steampunk koi fish features an ornate burnished brass and multicolored scale design and like the steampunk seahorse design, it's also available on t-shirts, messenger bags, tote bags, stickers, buttons and many other items. Steampunk t-shirts make a wonderful and whimsical gift for those who love the steampunk aesthetic or mechanical things!

$80,000 Gargoyles

I was thinking about the Gargoyles cartoon series earlier and then I happened to stumble upon this article on Oddnews.org.
I don't think Goliath would care that much. He's too busy trying to save Manhatten from...stuff.

Here's an excerpt from the article:

"A British man is stuck with nearly $80,000 in legal costs after a neighbor opposed two gargoyles he installed on his roof, his attorney says.

Alan Comer, 50, was taken to court over his gargoyles after a neighbor, Mark Goodman, complained they could tumble off the roof of Comer's Teignmouth, England, home, the Daily Mail reported."

Those are some expensive Gargoyles.

Keeping with the subject of gargoyles, there's a bar somewhere in the world with these urinals in its washroom, apparently.
Yeah, this is what nightmares are made of.

Anyway, back to the cartoon series.

I didn't realize that a game based on the series was released for the Sega Genesis sometime in the 90's. Well, I may have noticed back then but I certainly don't remember now so it's news to me. I may have to try to find that someday.

I actually had a Goliath poster over my bed for most of my teen years. I'd say it was sort of embarrassing but that poster kicked ass. I'm not really sure what effect staring up at Goliath's loincloth daily for almost a decade had on me though. It wasn't intentional, I assure you. It was just always there. Right above my head.

This is reminding me of the time I was reminiscing about the series and decided to look up some information about it a couple years ago and happened upon some racy Gargoyles fan fiction. Yergh.
If you're here looking for Gargoyles fan fiction you won't find any, I'm deeply sorry.
...I'm going to wash my brain out with soap now.

Steampunk S.E.A.horse

This steampunk seahorse is actually a S.E.A.horse (Submersible Exploration Apparatus). It comes in three colors with the steel one being the most common tier, the workhorse.
The silver and copper S.E.A.horses are reserved for special excursions.

Simpsons Cupcakes

So many cupcakes. So many colors. These Simpsons cupcakes are pretty amazing. I can only imagine how much effort went into these.

Astro City Links

Astro City Rocket-

Read about your favorite Astro City heroes and villains at the Astro City Rocket! Complete with a visitor's guide to Astro City, articles, reviews, desktop pictures, and a great forum this is a really great resource.

Herocopia-

If you've read the Astro City comics you probably remember seeing a reference or two to Herocopia.com. Well, it's real and it's pretty cool. You can look up vital stats and info about the heroes and villains of Astro city compiled in a wikipedia style format there.

Show 'Em All is one of my favourite Astro City issues and I can see why it won the Eisner Award for the "best single issue, single story" in 1998. The story features Junkman, the very unconventional villain pictured below.

If you want to find out what he's all about, you should pick up the issue. What are you waiting for? :)

Toy Rex T-Shirts

This stuffed dinosaur is guarding some purple and green plushie dino eggs on this cute t-shirt. I wasn't sure what type of plush dinosaur to make so I went with my favourite, the T-rex...or in this case he's a "Toy Rex". Dinosaurs are awesome.

Don't forget that there are stickers, buttons, messenger bags, mugs, stationary, baby clothes, maternity wear and hoodies in the Toy Rex section as well!
